Utah Driving Theory Test Practice

Practice questions covering Utah-specific facts as well as general driving-theory knowledge, plus the official Utah Driver License Division (Utah DLD) handbook where relevant. The real Utah DLD knowledge exam has 50 questions, and you'll need 80% correct to pass.

Utah is the only state where the legal BAC limit for a driver 21 or older is 0.05% instead of the standard 0.08%, and its licensing agency isn't called a DMV at all — it's the Driver License Division (DLD).

How these tools help you get licensed

Each one does a different job. Used in roughly this order, they take you from not knowing the material to walking into the Utah DLD office ready:

  1. Start with the Practice Test — untimed, with an explanation after every question, so you're actually learning the material, not just guessing at it.
  2. Once you're consistently scoring well, switch to the timed Mock Exam to confirm you can perform under the same pressure as the real thing.
  3. When you're ready, use Resources to get to the official Utah DLD site and book your actual test.

Ready to test?

Utah DLD requires 80% correct to pass. A good rule of thumb: once you're consistently scoring comfortably above that — 90% or better across several practice rounds in a row, not just one lucky attempt — you're in a good position to schedule your real test.
