Just moved to Delaware?
A new Delaware resident has 60 days from establishing residency to apply for a Delaware driver's license, and must title/register their vehicle within the same 60 days. See the official new-resident and vehicle registration links above for the full requirements.
Do you need a REAL ID?
Since May 7, 2025, the TSA has required a REAL ID-compliant license or ID — marked with a star in the upper right corner — or a valid passport to fly domestically or enter certain federal buildings. A standard license still works for driving; REAL ID only matters for federal ID purposes. Getting one for the first time requires an in-person visit even in states that otherwise support fully online renewal, since it's a federal identity requirement, not just a state license update. See how to apply in Delaware above for the exact documents you'll need.
